The provision of your personal data is voluntary, but if you do not consent to its processing or request its deletion from our database, you will not be able to avail yourself of the legal and informative support of our Center.

 

Please note that your data may not be passed on to third parties, only legally authorised institutions. Your data will not be subject to profiling. The controller shall not transfer personal data to a third country or an international organisation.

 

The person whose data are processed has the right to access the content of the data, to correct, delete or restrict the processing, as well as the right to object, to request the cessation of processing and data portability and to revoke consent at any time. COMPLAINT MECHANISM

 

Any person not satisfied with the assistance provided by employees of Halina Nieć Legal Aid Center or/and willing to report instances of misconduct, is encouraged to make a complaint.

Such a complaint might be made by phone or in writing, sent via ordinary mail addressed to HNLAC (see address above).

 

Complaints should contain a detailed description of situations and actions they concern and identify persons who are being accused of prohibited behavior. The complaint should also contain contact details to the person submitting the complaint, so as to enable follow up communication and  further investigation of the allegations. Anonymous complaints will not be proceeded. Complaints may be submitted in a language other than Polish.

 

SPECIAL COMPLAINT MECHANISM IN CASE OF SEXUAL ABUSE OR OTHER TYPES OF ABUSE

 

Sexual exploitation and abuse are unacceptable behaviors prohibited by law. The Halina Niec Legal Aid Center considers all complaints concerning allegations of such abuse against employees and associates of HNLAC with utmost diligence, especially if such actions are directed against a beneficiary of HNLAC services.

 

What is sexual exploitation?

Any actual or attempted abuse of a position of vulnerability, differential power, or trust for sexual purposes. It includes trafficking and prostitution.

 

What is sexual abuse?

Any actual or threatened sexual activity carried out by force or under unequal or coercive conditions.

Sexual exploitation and abuse can happen to anyone—men, women, boys, and girls—at any age, with or without a disability, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity and in any circumstance.

 

In line with HNLAC’s code of conduct and in accordance with UNHCR standards binding upon HNLAC as UNHCR’s implementing partner, HNLAC’s staff members and associates must not:

  • Have sexual activity with anyone in exchange for money, employment, preferential treatment, goods or services

  • Have sexual activity with any child under the age of 18 years old

  • Engage in any other form of sexually humiliating, degrading, or exploitative behavior.
     

Reporting instances of sexual exploitation and abuse

 

Any person who Has information concerning a case of sexual exploitation or abuse by a HNLAC employee or associated, or as a fear of or suspicion of such a case, may submit a complaint.
