Advices for persons going abroad
Before departure:
- Before travel check the validity of your passport and see to other formalities which are connected with a travel (for example if you have a work permit, valid visa etc.),
- Buy life and accident insurance,
- Check if employment agency is registered in the National Register of Employment Agencies and possesses proper certificate which is issued by a competent Marshal of Voivodeship,
- Examine all documents that you sign! Do not sign documents that you do not understand!
- If an agent requires any charge for his service – require a receipt of payment,
- Make a copy of all documents which you will take abroad (for example copy of passport, identity card, visa, work permit etc.) and just in case leave such copies your family,
- Leave family or persons you trust the following contact details:
-address of place where you stay,
-telephone number,
-e-mail address,
-name and surname of your employer,
-name of company in which you are going to work,
Also lay down the frequency of telephone contacts with your relatives.
Take with you:
- Address and telephone number of Polish embassy or consulate which is located in country where you are going to,
- Telephone number of organisation which provides aid to persons against whom crimes were committed,
- European Health Insurance Card (EKUZ). This card is a confirmation of being insured in the National Health Fund and entitles to medical assistance on the territory of the European Union member state/countries belonging to the European Free Trade Association (Norway, Liechtenstein, Island, Switzerland).
- Mobile phone with active roaming.
- Additional money (just in case).
Abroad
- If you were victim of a crime and you reported such fact to the Police – you have a right to interpreter.
- If you are suspected of committing a crime – you have a right to lawyer.
In case of contact with a potential minor victim of human trafficking you should pay attention to following factors:
- She/he declares that he/she does not know where are her/his parents, she/he does not have a contact with his/her family.
- She/he does not have any travel documents and cannot explain what happened with his/her passport.
- She/he does not know the purpose of travel and cannot say for how long she//he left his/her country.
- She/he behaves very unnaturally in relation to adult who accompanies him/her.
- She/he is neglected or quite the contrary – has very expensive clothes and cosmetics.
- She/he is very sleepy what may mean that she/he might be under influence of intoxicants.
- There are signs of violence on his/her body: bruises, scratches, singes.
- She/he is afraid of something, shows high level of stress and cries.
- She/he answers to questions in a way of unduly mature and unnaturally to his/her age.
If you suspect that a child may be a victim of human trafficking:

Assure him/her that you believe him/her.

Contact with the Police as soon as possible.
